Driver cut free following two vehicle collision

The driver was freed by firefighters – Lowestoft South Fire Station

A driver has been freed by firefighters following a two car collision just outside Kessingland earlier today.

Two crews from Lowestoft South Fire Station along with one from Wrentham were mobilised just before midday to the B1437 at the junction with the A12.

The road remains closed in both directions from the A12 junction to Field Lane in Kessingland while an investigation is carried out.

Police, the ambulance service and the air ambulance were also sent to the scene.

A spokesperson for Suffolk Police said: “Please avoid the area of Kessingland, London Road, B1437 junction with A12, to the north end of Kessingland.

“Emergency services are on scene dealing with a road traffic collision.

“Road closure may be in place for some time.”

Firefighters used rescue equipment to free the casualty who was transferred to hospital by ambulance.
