Driver sustains serious injuries after car collides with tree

A driver has sustained serious injuries following a late night single-vehicle collision in Leiston.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which occurred just after 11.10pm on Saturday 29th August on Park Hill.

Officers were called to reports of a collision involving a BMW 325 which left the road and collided with a tree opposite the recreation ground.

Ambulance crews and a Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS) doctor were also mobilised to the scene. The male driver was subsequently taken to Ipswich Hospital having sustained potentially life-changing injuries.

Any witnesses to the collision, or anyone who may passed a silver BMW in the area just prior to it and who has a dash cam fitted in their vehicle, is asked to contact the Roads and Armed Policing Team on 101, quoting reference CAD 396 of 29th August.
