A delivery driver alerted police to a house fire in Great Cornard near Sudbury yesterday afternoon.
Smoke was seen coming from the property which was noticed by the delivery driver who made a passing police patrol aware of the incident.
Fire appliances from Sudbury and Long Melford were mobilised to the incident on Lower Reeve at 3.09pm on Friday 12th February.
Crews in breathing apparatus forced entry to the house to extinguish the blaze and prevent any further damage to the property.
It was initially feared that people were still inside the property but on arrival of the fire service the house was found to be empty.
A stop to the incident was called at 3.44pm.
