Library to close after staff member tests positive for covid

Hadleigh Library will be closed this week to enable the site to be deep cleaned after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19.

This is a safety precaution after the library became aware of the positive test result. The library is closed on Mondays but would be due to open tomorrow, Tuesday 15th December.

The library is expected to reopen next week on Tuesday 22nd December.

A spokesman for Suffolk Libraries said: “We would like to reassure customers that all staff have been closely following safety procedures to minimise any transmission risk.

“We apologise to customers for any inconvenience. Customers can still return items using the library’s dropbox or visit any other Suffolk library.

“For more details of which services are currently available from libraries please visit our COVID-19 information page.”

Meanwhile Ipswich County Library has reopened as of today, Monday 14th December, following a precautionary closure after a member of staff there recently tested positive for COVID-19.
