Two females arrested after man found unconscious

Police have arrested two females after a man was found unconscious in Stowmarket yesterday evening.

The incident occurred at some point before 6.10pm yesterday, Friday 3rd September, in a park, known as Big Park, near Creeting Road East in the Cedars Park area of the town.

A man, who is aged in his 40s, was found unconscious near the basketball court after it is believed he was involved in an altercation with a group of teenagers.

The man was taken to Ipswich Hospital via ambulance after he sustained bruising, a cut and a head injury. He remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Shortly after the incident, officers arrested two 16 year old teenage girls on suspicion of assault.

One of the females was also arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a Class B or C drug – Cannabis.

Both females were taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning. They have since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed four teenagers, both male and female, with an older man in the vicinity of the park and nearby area shortly before and after the incident.

Further patrols will be taking place in the area as the investigation into the circumstances continues.
