Firefighters were called to a field on the outskirts of Sudbury earlier today after a horse became stuck between two trees.
Crews from Sudbury and Bury St Edmunds were mobilised at 8.44am today, Friday 21st May, to the incident at Ballingdon Hill on Ballingdon Street.
On arrival they found that a 28 year old male horse stuck had become stuck between the trees.
A vet was called to the incident and sedated the horse so that firefighters could safely trim two branches.
Once the branches had been trimmed they used animal rescue equipment to lift the horse out of the gap and to safe ground.
The horse is safely back on all fours and the vet is staying with the animal until the full effects of the sedation have worn off.
A stop to the incident was called at 10.17am.
