Charity launches new corporate supporters club

St Nicholas Hospice Care is on the lookout for businesses willing to give the charity a boost by joining its new corporate supporters club.

With its annual fundraiser for businesses, the Accumulator Challenge, unable to go ahead this year and with the support of the challenge’s sponsor 1 Accounts Online, the hospice has launched its own Corporate Supporters Club.

Businesses can either donate £300 to join, or fundraise the same amount. The charity hopes the club, which is sponsored by 1 Accounts Online, will be a way for companies to continue their support throughout 2020.

Paul Donno, from 1 Accounts Online, said: “These past months have been challenging for all of us but especially for the health care sector.

“Continuing to support the hospice through these difficult times is imperative as they need the funding more than ever.

“With the Accumulator Challenge being postponed this year we have taken the decision to still support the hospice.

“We urge other businesses to do the same. Even though the fundraiser has been cancelled, this doesn’t mean the hospice doesn’t need it. The team at the hospice are doing a wonderful job and we will continue to support them for as long as we are able. Well done.”

Businesses that join the club will receive a certificate to acknowledge their membership, as well as window stickers, a mention on the charity’s website and support from the hospice should they wish to fundraise in the future.

Abby Mayes, the hospice’s corporate fundraising manager, said: “Making the decision to pause the Accumulator Challenge for 2020 was not an easy one.

“For over ten years the challenge has not only raised much needed funds, it also brought businesses together, although it is a competitive challenge the sense of camaraderie is always fantastic.

“We hope businesses will still be able to support us by joining our Corporate Supporters Club.

“Our business community are always supportive, and we need them now more than ever.”

Last year’s Accumulator Challenge, which was also sponsored by 1 Accounts Online, saw a grand total of £33,274 raised as more than 30 businesses competed for the fundraising crown.
