Haverhill roads reopen following flash flooding

Roads in Haverhill that were closed off by police following yesterday’s flooding have now reopened.

Ehringshausen Way and Burton End in Haverhill were badly affected by the heavy rain on Sunday with police urging drivers to avoid the area.

Police closed off Ehringshausen Way between Lidl supermarket and the Sturmer Roundabout late yesterday afternoon however the road was clear by early evening.

Burton End and Clements Lane were closed for several hours as emergency services worked to divert water away from nearby properties.

Suffolk Police confirmed this morning that all roads had now reopened although some patches of water remained.

They also thanked the local community for looking out for each other.
