Two males were arrested in Haverhill earlier today, 13th October, in connection with drug and firearm offences.
Officers had reason to conduct a search of a male on Burton End and, once searched, they recovered a round of ammunition and a quantity of what were believed to be class A drugs.
The male, aged 33 years old, was arrested on suspicion of class A drugs and possession of illegal ammunition. He was also arrested on suspicion of rape of a woman, suspicion of coercive and controlling behaviour, public order offences and kidnap.
A search of a property in the same road was also conducted, with the assistance of the Norfolk & Suffolk Police Dog Unit, and this found further rounds of ammunition and police also made a second arrest at the property.
A 50 year old year old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs and possession of firearms offences.
Both suspects were taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
The 32 year old was released on police bail to answer on 3rd November. The 50 year old was released on police bail to answer on 4th November.
Enquiries into the offences are on-going and investigations continue.
