Man charged after car was stolen in Lakenheath

A 42 year old man from has been arrested and charged after a car was stolen in Lakenheath earlier this month.

A Mercedes C320 was taken from outside the victim’s address on Hallmark Close in the village in the early hours of Friday 4th September.

The following day, Saturday, at around 6.40pm officers stopped the stolen car being driven on Yarmouth Road in Lowestoft and arrested the driver on suspicion of theft. A quantity of drugs were also located in the vehicle.

Shaun Vittles of Swaffham Road in Narborough, Norfolk was taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre where he was questioned by officers.

Vittles was subsequently charged with theft, driving without motor insurance,  driving whilst disqualified, possession of class A and class B drugs and breaking a bail condition not to be in the front seat of a motor vehicle.

He appeared before Norwich Magistrates Court on 14th September and was remanded into custody. He is due to appear before the same court on 8th October.
