Fire crews attend two suspected arson incidents

Fire crews were called to two separate forest fires just off a Mildenhall road last night which are believed to have been started deliberately.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service were mobilised to the first incident at 6.58pm on Conifer Close.

Three appliances from Brandon, Mildenhall and Newmarket attended the scene used one hose reel and beaters to extinguish the fire.

A stop to the first incident was called at 7.22pm and crews were mobilised again 7.40pm to another forest fire very close to the first.

The second incident was under control by 7.55pm.

A spokesman for Suffolk Fire & Rescue Service said both fires are believed to have been started deliberately and information has been passed to the police.
