A drink driver was found to be over four times the legal limit after hitting a wall in Newmarket last night.
Police were called at approximately 9.30pm on Thursday 5th August to reports of a road traffic collision in the town.
A Suzuki Swift travelling along the High Street left the road and collided with a wall, at the junction with Grosvenor Yard.
The driver, a woman in her 30s, failed a roadside breath test and was arrested on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol.
She was taken to West Suffolk Hospital as a precaution where she was treated for minor injuries, and subsequently taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
She has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
