Road closed by police after cyclist hit by car

A road in Newmarket was closed off by police after a cyclist was hit by a car this evening.

Mill Hill was closed for around 2 hours, near to the junction with St Mary’s Square, whilst emergency services deal with the incident on Friday 10th September.

Suffolk Police confirmed just after 8pm that they were on scene of a road traffic collision involving a car and a person.

Motorists were asked to avoid the area.

The road reopened just before 10.30pm.

Any witnesses to the incident should contact police on 101 quoting reference CAD412 of today, Friday 10th September.
