Three arrests made after man was stabbed

Three people have been arrested by police in connection with an incident that took place on Mill Hill in Newmarket in the early hours of Friday.

Police were called by the East of England Ambulance Service just before 3.05am on 4th June to reports that a man had been stabbed.

The 19 year old victim sustained two knife wounds to his back and was taken to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

Officers recovered a knife at the scene.

Yesterday, Sunday 6th June, police arrested a 17 year old teenage boy from Bury St Edmunds on suspicion of assault. He has been bailed to return to police on 1st July.

Today, Monday 7th June, police have arrested two further people from Bury St Edmunds – a 20 year old man and a 17 year old boy – on suspicion of assault.

The males are at currently being held at Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre and will be questioned by detectives investigating the incident.
